The importance of ongoing training aimed at improving the skills of the Social and Childcare workers of Adoption agencies can hardly be over-emphasised. Many agency workers are ill-equipped even to understand regulatory guidelines/instructions which, most often, is in the English language. Jointly with agencies that have the expertise and, with the assistance of other experts, CSA organize training programmes aimed at bridging the knowledge gap. The programmes conducted in the year 2008-09 are as under:

Quality Institutional care and alternative care-Training Programme in Orissa
Jointly with Basundhara, CSA organized a training programme on “Quality Institutional care and alternative care” for partner adoption agencies in Orissa. The 2-day programme, held on the 19th and 20th September 2009, was attended by representatives from 11 licensed adoption agencies (LAPA & RIPA), other Child care & Welfare agencies & Media representatives. |

Adoption –The Social Worker’s Role and Responsibility; Training programme in Maharashtra
CSA organized a workshop for Social Workers and the decision makers of adoption agencies in Pune, Marathwada and Vidarbha region at Panchgani on the 5th and 6th November 2008. Outbound Management Consultants coordinated the programme and provided the facilities at their campus. The 2-day programme was attended by representatives of Pune, Marathwada and Vidarbha adoption agencies. The Resource persons included.

Quality child care-Training Programme in Maharashtra
A Training workshop for child care workers of Marathwada, Vidarbha and Ahmednagar adoption agencies was organized by CSA on the 22nd and 23rd January 2009. The programme was held at the Bharat Scout Ground, Sadashiv Peth, Pune.
The interactive workshop, covered topics such as the care of a new born baby, Health, hygiene and nutrition, Food plan for children, Common ailments, Child Care & Milestone Development, Emotional and Social Development and, Language Development. |
