Advocacy & Awareness
Adoption involves processing at multiple levels at the State, Center and the Judiciary. Varying interpretations of rules and ad-hoc procedure changes, lead to cumbersome practices. Working with multiple agencies from outside, gives CSA the advantage of identifying roadblocks. Local issues, primarily with the Government Departments/District Officials and Judiciary, are resolved at the local levels through direct interaction. Matters that need policy resolution are taken up with the State/Centre.
Advocacy
CSA have
- Addressed judicial bottlenecks in Orissa
- Petitioned the Prime Minister of India seeking intervention in resolving policy issues in Child Adoption
- Sought CARA intervention in matters relating to placement of older children and movement of eligible children from orphanages into adoption
Awareness
To create awareness CSA conducts programmes for Anganwadi workers at the District levels, District Officials, Police, Judiciary and Prospective parents.
