We assist identified agencies in upgrading their facilities and services. Our facilitation includes improvements in physical facilities (civil work, painting, mosquito netting, play pen and garden), capability (providing resource persons paid for by us), childcare standards (education, provisions, clothes, toys, medical equipment, and recreation) and administrative enhancements (paper work facilitation).
From amongst the partner agencies, CSA select identified agencies for being hand- held for a period of 5 years. During this period, the agencies are expected to reach the highest standards of child care. This initiative is taken to enhance the standards and to bring rural agencies to a level that is comparable, in terms of ‘best practices’, to the best agencies in the country . In addition to care standards, the processing of the adoption is expected to be completed within the minimum possible time so that the child’s stay in the institution is minimised. Adherence to laid down processes is strictly to be followed.
Special care Home
Jointly with The Love Trust, an Adoption Agency in Buldana, Maharashtra, CSA have set up a special facility for the care of differently- abled children. Mentally challenged children who have been relinquished/ abandoned and reach adoption agencies in neighboring Districts, are transferred to the facility. They are provided quality care and medical help. 10 such children are looked after in the facility.
CSA organise training programmes for Social Workers and Child Care Workers in the adoption agencies. Child assessment, Parent assessment, Counselling, Home study, Childcare, Milestones, First-aid and Home nursing, are some of the focus areas.
Local Awareness and Sensitisation
CSA assists agencies in coordinating with other stake holders. Creating local awareness amongst the general public, addressing grassroot Anganwadi workers, Police, Judiciary and District Officials are some of the focus areas.
