Books -The Penguin Guide To Adoption
The Penguin Guide to Adoption
Dr. Aloma Lobo & Jayapriya Vasudevan

The book begins uniquely with a wish-list of grown -up adoptees- one that reflects their frustartions, joys, fears and longing.. Through the first few chapters the book deals with standard material such as processes, legal status, etc which have been covered in earlier publications Midway through, the book discusses "different scenarios "and supports them with real-life case studies. which are both, original and interesting .

The Guide is not merely a repeat of research done earlier or publicly available text; it addresses some of the basic concerns and includes checklists and queries that one may ask before venturing into adoption, or, queries that an Adoptive parent may expect from the child. The section on grown-up children offers a guidance- base on how to deal with such children. .Finally the authors address some important areas that are generally overlooked.

Dr. Aloma Lobo and Jaya Vasudevan are both adoptive parents; they speak from the heart.
