Child Support

CSA believe that a child must receive care of a quality that  nurtures her developmental needs. To achieve the desired rehabilitation outcome, such care must include nutrition, health, education, recreation, and vocation/ skills –development. In effect, the care must be of a quality that is comparable to that in a family. This fundamental belief acts as a guiding principle for CSA’s involvement with partner-agencies.

CSA’s objectives are to help agencies improve their child care standards and manage the
adoption process more efficiently.  Our support initiatives include:

Nutrition
CSA’s objective is to remove malnutrition that is so often found amongst smaller children.  We provide Supplementary baby food to (rural) agencies that do not receive government/fixed grants. The support is ongoing.

Clothing
CSA provide summer/winter wear to the children in adoption agencies as also, orphanages.

Health
CSA provide health facilities such as vaccinations, basic medicines and surgical equipment (baby-warmers). Periodic medical check-up is also, arranged.  For older children, we conduct health awareness programmes.

Education
CSA have admitted a number of school-starters into English Medium Schools in Orissa. We pay for the school  fees, uniform, transport, lunch, books, stationery and  school material.  In addition, we arrange for tutors to provide back-up support for academics.  We selectively organize educational tours.

Recreation
CSA provide Play pens, books, toys, music systems/cds  to all adoption agencies. Older children are given play equipment such as Cricketing gear, volleyball/badminton Court, Indoor games. A  gymnasium was set up in one Government Home in Maharashtra. .Where feasible, we set up libraries and reading rooms. We also, organise fun-activities and festival-celebrations.

Vocational Training/Skills-development
CSA  have set up computer training centers at the care homes providing the work stations, accessories and the tutors. The children are encouraged to participate in State-level competitive exams. We also, organise “vocational training programmes” in  tailoring, art &craft,  beautician/ mehendi, cushion/ paper bag-  making,  etc. We provide the Trainers as also, the training  material.
