CSA in Adoption
Since our inception in 2002, CSA has been working on improving the adoption scenario in India. Realising that there are very few adoptable children in agencies in major metros, we looked for and found, several children in rural agencies, who languished for want of a family/home. We began work in rural India in 2006-07, starting with 7 agencies in Marathawada, Maharashtra. We subsequently moved to Orissa, Chattisgarh and the Union Territory of Goa. Currently, we engage with 25 adoption agencies assisting them in finding homes for the children and supporting them in improving the childcare, living and work conditions. Our objective is to optimize rehabilitation outcomes by finding homes for waiting children wherever possible and, in the case of children who remain institutionalised, providing a high quality of care.
