
CSA in Orphan Care
Catalysts for Social Action works on quality care for the institutionalized child. The ultimate goal is to optimise re-habilitation outcomes so that a destitute child can grow into a contributing member of society. For institutionalised children, CSA endeavors, to provide quality care that is comparable to ‘family-care’.
CSA partners with 11 orphanages in the states of Maharashtra, Orissa, Chattisgarh and Goa, extending Development support leading to better living ( Civil work, potable water, electricity, sanitation, furniture/fixtures, surgical equipment, water/room heating, mosquito netting, recreation facilities), childcare (nutrition, health/hygiene, education, recreation, clothing, linen) and work conditions. In addition, CSA provides Academic assistance (books, tutors/special coaching, spoken English) and Vocational/ Skills Training (computers, self-employment-generating and life-skills) to older children. The objective is to upgrade the institution so that ongoing and sustainable benefits are available to all children who enter the institution.
CSA also, creates facilities for special needs children.
