CSA partner organisations work with us to enhance childcare in orphanages. These are either large, mid-size or small organisations who share our vision of working jointly towards optimizing rehabilitation outcomes for children in orphanages. The association also provides opportunities for employees to engage with children on a one to one basis and be a ‘change catalyst’ in their own way!

2 projects are being implemented:
I) Project WaSH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) –
Children living in orphanages/CCIs (Child Care Institutions) have a right to living in a safe, protected and hygienic environment akin to children residing with their families. However, several times, this may not be the case. CCIs sometimes lack the funds or resources to maintain upkeep or upgrade their facilities that is essential to provide a protected and clean surrounding for children to grow in. The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 stipulates guidelines on the infrastructure facilities that should exist in a CCI depending on the number of children living there.
It is important for adequate infrastructure facilities to be in place so that children can grow in an environment conducive to their healthy and safe growth. With the WaSH project, we aim to bridge the gap at CCIs & provide basic sanitation and hygienic facilities for children to live in.
The goal of this project is to provide children in orphanages/CCIs the access to privacy, safe sanitation & prevention of life threatening diseases.
A total of 2100+ children living in CCI’s from the age group of 6-18 years will benefit from various Infrastructure related Construction and Repair work. 1600+ children will benefit from the distribution of Hygiene Kits
II) Education Project (Module Development and Implementation)
A major area of need is better education for children residing in CCIs. While it appears that children in orphanages go to schools and are receiving elementary education, evidence shows that ‘learning outcomes’ are far from satisfactory. ASER (Annual Status of Education Report) throws light on some grim facts indicating that reading and arithmetic levels are of serious concern. For e.g. more than half the children in Std. V are at least ‘three grade levels’ behind where they should be.
There is thus an urgency in addressing this need and the time window to make a difference to them is limited.
The goal of this project is to create an Education module to improve basic education and learning abilities for children in Orphanages.
540 children residing in CCI’s based in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra from the age group of 4-18 years will benefit from this project.
